The top tweets and memes about the season 1 finale of “House of the Dragon”

Spoilers for the first season finale of “House of the Dragon” are present in this post. A devastating death in the Targaryen family brings the climax to a close. The second season, which is anticipated to debut in 2024, has already piqued the interest of viewers. Morning Brew is read by more than 3 million people; you should too! Thank you for registering! One of the Targaryens passes away tragically in the House of the Dragon season one finale.

After the Hightowers stole the Iron Throne from the princess, Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy), her uncle-husband Daemon (Matt Smith), and her family prepare their revenge. Rhaenyra dispatches her family toward the conclusion of the episode to gather her allies throughout Westeros in case civil war breaks out.

Elliott Grihault plays Rhaenyra’s son Lucerys, who arrives to Storm’s End and finds his uncle Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell) waiting for him while also bringing a message to Lord Borros Baratheon, a prospective ally (Roger Evans). Aemond chooses to use this chance to exact revenge on Lucerys for cutting out his eye in episode seven by pursuing his younger nephew with the help of his massive dragon, Vhagar.

Aemond’s dragon, who ultimately kills both Lucerys and his little dragon Arryx, loses control during the chase. Many of the comments to the season’s tragic conclusion have been negative, with viewers making fun of Aemond for having to explain why he provoked a civil war.

by Luke Egner (@akalukas19) October 24, 2022 AEMOND’S REACTION to accidentally killing his nephew was mocked by a large number of fans. Aemond did not want to actually kill his nephew in the season finale’s penultimate moment, as was evident from the emotion on his face. Fans have imagined their own interpretations of what Aemond and his mother Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) might have said after the error.

In episode eight, King Viserys (Paddy Considine) passed away following long years of calm rule. A week after his death, Westeros is on the edge of a civil war, several people—including his grandson—have died, and his wife and son have usurped the crown from his legitimate heir. He wouldn’t be very pleased if he were watching from the dead.

Several people made light of the fact that even if Rhaenyra started committing “war crimes,” they would still support her.

It will be some time before fans can see what happens next because the writers have just started developing the plot for season two. Not everyone appreciates this.
