Socialist Seattle Democrat who advocated for police defunding yells at officers for failing to shield her from a poop-thrower

The police have come under fire from a progressive member of the Seattle City Council who has been outspoken in her criticism of law enforcement during the “defund the cops” movement for not doing enough to investigate claims of several incidents of feces being thrown into her yard.

Kshama Sawant, a self-described socialist and member of the Seattle City Council, wrote to the police this week to complain that they are “failed to investigate” what she claims are six distinct incidents of someone with political motivations defecating in her yard, according to KCPQ-TV reported. .

Sawant claimed in her letter that the incidents warranted police protection, saying, “There is obviously a glaring inconsistency between this approach and the way in which former Mayor Durkan was provided with a 24-hour stakeout for a full year after a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest was held a short distance from her mansion.” “I am being informed that my case of six frightening occurrences using human excrement doesn’t justify even a serious examination, let alone protection,” said the socialist member of the city council who has taken part in Black Lives Matter demonstrations.

The Seattle Police Department, whose personnel levels have fallen to a 30-year low as a result of the exodus of officers brought on by the Defund the Police campaign, appealed to the public this week by releasing images of the culprit.

A law enforcement source claims that the “DEFUND THE POLICE” aftermath had a “ripple effect” that put everyone at danger.

Without naming Sawant as the victim, the police stated that “friends of the victim were watching the property when the suspect dumped a plastic bag, containing numerous individual bags of suspected human feces, into the yard.” The pals confronted the culprit and took numerous pictures of him fleeing. The suspect, shown below, was described by witnesses as an Asian male who was about 5-foot-4 in height.

Sawant said she intends to lodge a complaint with the Office of Police Accountability regarding the police.

Over the past few years, Sawant has led the effort to defund the Seattle police, and in 2020, he suggested cutting the department’s budget by $85 million, according to KIRO-TV reported. . She was one of the several demonstrators who invaded city hall in 2020 for about an hour, calling for the resignation of the mayor at the time, Jenny Durkan, and the defunding of the police force.

Fox News Digital sent a comment request to Sawant’s office, but they did not respond right away.
Seattle Police told KCPQ-TV in a statement that they treat all criminal incidents seriously.
