Following vows to defund and abolish the police, Ilhan Omar spends tens of thousands of dollars on private protection.

Following her vows to defund the police and support for a campaign to abolish the Minneapolis Police Department, Rep. Ilhan Omar’s campaign recently spent tens of thousands of dollars on private security services, federal papers reveal.

According to Federal Election Commission documents, the Minnesota Democrat’s campaign spent $27,081.14 on “security services” between July and September, almost all of which went to Relative Intel LLC. Relative Intel provides consultancy, training, and protection services.

According to Relative Intel’s website, “Our leadership has spent more than 25 years engaged in the private security business across the United States and worldwide.” “We provide accurate, high-quality solutions that are tailored to the individual demands of our customers.” We provide executive protection, site security, high-value package transfer, private intelligence analysis, and a variety of training programs, in addition to site security.

The highest money her campaign has ever paid Omar for similar services is in the most recent payments. A study of federal papers reveals that before the third quarter, her campaign paid private security companies almost $83,000 between May 2019 and July of this year.

Data reveals that the majority of crimes have sharply increased in the city of “DEFUND THE POLICE” ADVOCATE ILHAN OMAR.

Relative Intel LLC covers the Twin Cities area, including Minneapolis, which has had a high rise in most crimes over the last year. The payments also follow Omar’s vows to defund police and her backing for a campaign to destroy and replace the Minneapolis PD.

After George Floyd’s passing in May 2020, violent violence in Minneapolis increased dramatically. The city came one homicide short of its all-time high of 97 homicides in 1997 last year. Theft of motor vehicles, larceny/theft, carjackings, destruction of property, and assaults are all on the rise, despite the fact that murders have decreased this year.

Omar, on the other hand, was the one who originally promoted the “defund the police” movement soon after Floyd’s passing.

Just over a week after Floyd’s passing, Omar said, “The ‘defund the police’ campaign is one of reinventing the current police system to establish an entity that does not violate us, while shifting cash to invest in community services.” Let’s be clear: those opposed to calls for systematic change have always done so.

Later, when the city’s crime rate increased, Omar backed a campaign against the Minneapolis Police Department. Far-left activists successfully got a charter amendment on the November ballot last year in their campaign to abolish the city’s police force and replace it with a “Department of Public Safety.”

Outside funding for the initiative came in droves from wealthy liberal individuals and activist organizations. According to a report from Fox News Digital, the campaign received $500,000 from the advocacy group founded by George Soros, the Open Society Policy Center.

Other organizations, like MoveOn.org and the American Civil Liberties Union, also contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars in non-cash contributions in the form of staffing, email list access, and other services.
